A little about me…
I’ve been in the mental health field for 15 years providing direct clinical care, supervision, consultation, and trainings. I am originally from southern coastal Maine and moved to Connecticut for my bachelor’s in Psychology from UCONN. While living in Connecticut, I completed the doctoral program in clinical psychology at Antioch University New England and became a staff psychologist at Trinity College. I’ve recently relocated with my family to Oregon and now see clients virtually in both states with an in-person location in Portland’s South Waterfront district.
I offer a unique perspective as someone with both the lived experience of an eating disorder and doctoral training in the treatment of eating disorders. I am passionate about the social justice of deconstructing fat phobia and helping clinicians and clients examine their own biases. I also believe in the healing power of compassion focused interventions to help us release shame.
I enjoy being in multiple professional roles. In addition to seeing private clients, I am a parent educator and consultant for Peace at Home Parenting Solutions where I get to offer my expertise in eating disorders to parents in the community. I am also adjunct faculty for the University of Hartford Graduate Institute in Professional Psychology where I’ve taught Case Conference Seminar, Clinical Supervision, and supported students with their dissertations. When I’m not teaching or with clients, I am busy being Mom, exploring local farms, and going for walks with our family dog.
